19-month-old boy dies after being struck by multiple vehicles

Toys are left as a memorial in front of the home of a child
killed when hit by multiple vehicles Sunday evening at
South Street and Pine Avenue.

For the second time in less than a month, a Hastings toddler was killed after wandering out into the street.

The Hastings Police Department received a call about 7:18 p.m. Sunday of a pedestrian/vehicle collision in the 200 block of East South Street.

The victim, 19-month-old Roy Lagunas Jr. who lives at 231 E. South Street with his family, was struck by multiple vehicles as they traveled westbound on South Street.

Roy's death comes 29 days after the death of 2-year-old Tryson Ruff, who was killed while running out into the street to reach his mother on the other side of the street.
