Morningside head coach Steve Ryan talks about his team's
upcoming season at GPAC media day on Aug. 2 in Lincoln.
There are few teams in the current GPAC that have had the kind of run Morningside has. The Mustangs have made eight straight national tournament appearances and have a 77-18 record during that stretch.
Last season, Morningside rode a nationally-ranked defense to a 9-2 record, falling 21-17 to St. Francis (10-2) in the first round of the Football Championship Series. Mustangs head coach Steve Ryan said the teams in the GPAC are getting better every year.
“This is a good conference,” Ryan said. “It’s a competitive conference. There are a lot of good football teams... It’s going to be a great year. Hopefully we can be competitive.”
