Opening ceremonies tonight
Numerous events already are under way at Adams County FairFest, but the big shebang is tonight.
Opening ceremonies for the 2012 fair are scheduled for 5 p.m. at Windmill Park at the fairgrounds, 947 S. Baltimore Ave.
Master of ceremonies Russ Batenhorst will introduce Janice Hill, who will sing the national anthem, and Renee Johnson, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, will give a short prayer. Various community members will speak, including Lee Hogan, president of the fairgrounds’ Agricultural Society, and Larry Woodman, president of the Adams County Board of Supervisors.
