FRANKLIN — The rural Franklin woman attempting to recall Franklin County Sheriff Jerry Archer and County Attorney Patrick Duncan failed to turn in the needed signatures to force a recall election for Archer.
Deborah Welton of rural Franklin filed recall affidavits with the Franklin County Clerk’s Office for Archer on Aug. 6 and for Duncan on Aug. 14.
She had until Sept. 29 to turn in signatures for Archer, although County Clerk Marcia Volk said she would extend that deadline to the end of Monday. Welton has until Saturday to turn in signatures for Duncan.
A representative for the clerk’s office said no signatures were turned in Monday.
