match Monday night in Blue Hill.

BLUE HILL — The Blue Hill volleyball team has been on a roll in the second half of the season. After starting the year 5-4, the Bobcats won 14 of their last 17 heading into the Twin Valley Conference tournament championship match Monday night.

And they didn't slow down.

Second-seeded Blue Hill swept top-seeded Deshler 25-18, 25-12, 25-15 Monday in Blue Hill for the TVC title. The victory was the Bobcats' seventh consecutive win.

The biggest key to Monday's victory was the defense. The Bobcats (19-7) dug seemingly everything that Deshler hit over the net and had blockers in the faces of the Dragons' hitters. Blue Hill head coach Kristi Allen said when the defense is playing like it did Monday, the Bobcats are tough to beat.

"When we get touches or blocks, especially touches, from our defense, then we can move and pass the ball up," Allen said. "April Faimon has just been playing outstanding in the back row. ... She really just takes control out there on the court. She's one of those players that you don't really notice because she's not getting the kills or the blocks, but man, she's got control out there."
