But neither of those things should mean much to the Lady Red right now.
The way the Kansas State High School Athletics Association sets up the postseason for any sport could either be admired or scoffed at. Head coach Nick Linn would rather have things set up for the postseason like it is in Nebraska, where there's a wildcard for the state tournament.
The Lady Red will begin their sub-state tournament journey Saturday at Oberlin-Decatur Community High School as the No. 2 see — Hill City (32-4) is top-seeded and Ellis (27-9) and is the third seed.
