Parents of young crash victim overwhelmed by support

The last person still hospitalized from the tragic bus-semitrailer truck collision near Blue Hill that killed four and injured five last week is expected to make a full recovery, her family said in a statement released Saturday.

Taylor Alber, 7, sustained a lacerated liver, slightly deflated lung and badly broken arm in the crash Wednesday. She was treated at Mary Lanning HealthCare and later airlifted to Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, where she is currently listed in fair condition.

“Our family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers,” said Marty and Jessica Alber, Taylor’s parents, in a statement. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our friends, our community and even those who don’t know us."
