Giltner cruises past BDS

SHICKLEY — Last season, the Giltner football team was known for its high-powered offense. The Hornets' offensive numbers resembled that of a video game.

The 2012 Hornets have not missed a step on offense, but it was the defense that stole the show Friday.

Giltner defeated Bruning-Davenport/Shickley 46-6 in Shickley. The Hornets dominated the game on both sides of the ball for the whole game, but head coach Jeff Ashby said the defense stood out to him.

"I was pretty pleased with the defense. It wasn't too bad," Ashby said. "We switched some things up on them to try and keep them guessing how to block us. That went pretty well."
