Tigers come up short against Northwest

Hastings High receiver Grahm Schneider catches the ball in
front Grand Island Northwest's Cole Leaman for a
touchdown Friday at Lloyd Wilson Field.
Hastings High found plenty of ways to move the football. But unfortunately for the Tigers, Grand Island Northwest discovered even more of them.
The Vikings (2-0) churned out 561 yards of total offense en route to a 46-27 shootout Friday at Hastings College's Lloyd Wilson Field.
"I knew going in it was going to be a shootout. We just didn't make enough stops," said Tiger coach Rick Ripperger after his team fell to 1-1. "We were down three touchdowns at halftime, then bring it within two. We've just got to get a stop here and there."
