Hastings College's Keenen Ballage finds room to run against
the Concordia defense Saturday night at Lloyd Wilson Field.
After last week’s 20-7 win against Dordt, the Hastings College football team wanted to make a statement on Saturday against Concordia.
And the Broncos did. The Broncos made it known to the rest of the conference that this is not your typical Hastings College offense.
The Broncos were explosive on offense in a 34-26 homecoming victory over the Bulldogs at Lloyd Wilson Field. Hastings College was fueled by forcing five Concordia turnovers and two scoring plays of more than 49 yards. HC head coach Tony Harper said his team executed much better than it did against Dordt.
“I’m proud of the kids again. They weathered the storm,” he said. “Concordia had two or three times where they could have gained the momentum and put some points on the score board, and our guys responded. I’m proud of the coaches at how hard they coached and worked this week. When you do things right, good things happen.”
