The Hastings College volleyball team made another statement Saturday, sweeping perennial Great Plains Athletic Conference power Northwestern 25-20, 25-23, 25-21 at Lynn Farrell Arena.
The win was the first for the seniors on the NAIA No. 7-ranked Bronco roster over Northwestern, which is receiving votes in the NAIA poll, in their careers. It’s the second time this season the Hastings seniors captured their first career wins over a GPAC foe after the Broncos downed Doane earlier this month.
“This definitely feels really good,” said HC senior libero Carissa Kinne. “For the seniors, to finally beat (Northwestern) and to sweep them, this feels good. But there’s still some things we know we can improve on. We’ve got a lot of tough matches ahead of us.”
